  • Claude Debussy: Clair de lune (1905)

Keigo Mukawa, piano

Debussy’s Clair de lune takes its name from a poem by Paul Verlaine, an important representative of symbolism and the Belle Époque period. Fauré composed a song cycle based on Verlaine’s poems, while Debussy’s quartet serves as a sonic analogy to Verlaine’s poetry.
The premiere of Olli Kortekangas’ Le bonheur de vivre adds a fine new work to the impressive canon of Finnish cello compositions.
