Emma Kajander

Soprano

Soprano Emma Kajander is rapidly emerging as one of Finland’s brightest operatic talents. She made her house debut at the Finnish National Opera in 2024 as Christine in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera. Upcoming engagements include The Magic Flute’s Pamina in the Royal Swedish Opera, and Don Carlo’s Tebaldo in the Tampere Opera. In 2028 she will debut as Mimì in Puccini’s La Bohème.

A sought-after concert soloist, Kajander has appeared for example in the Lauttasaari Music Festival and Sibelius’ Kullervo in Stockholm. In 2026–2027 she’ll perform at the Bregenz Festival  in Britten’s Les Illuminations, and Ravel’s Shéhérazade with the Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra.

Winner of the Lappeenranta Singing Competition of 2025 and Havets Röst 2023, Kajander has received the Martti Talvela Scholarship and taken part in Karita Mattila’s master class at Wigmore Hall. She studies at the Sibelius Academy under Outi Kähkönen.
