Quatuor Hanson
Anton Hanson – violin
Jules Dussap – violin
Gabrielle Lafait – viola

Founded in Paris in 2013, the Quatuor Hanson has rapidly become one of the most captivating string quartets of its generation. The ensemble is united by a deep passion for the rich quartet tradition and a constant curiosity to explore its boundaries—both within classical and contemporary music.
Their first recording Aparté (2019), a double album devoted to Joseph Haydn, received outstanding critical acclaim and was awarded the Diapason d’Or de l’Année. Their next release, Not All Cats Are Grey, delved into the nocturnal soundscapes of the 20th century, confirming the quartet’s reputation as bold and inquisitive interpreters. In 2022, their live recording of George Crumb’s Black Angels was honored with BBC Choice and named one of the year’s best contemporary music albums.
Renowned for their versatile programming, the Quatuor Hanson brings together works from different eras, allowing each to illuminate the other in fresh and unexpected ways. They have collaborated with Hatto Beyerle, Johannes Meissl, and the Ébène and Ysaÿe Quartets, and worked closely with contemporary composers such as Toshio Hosokawa, Wolfgang Rihm, and Matthias Pintscher.
Internationally acclaimed, the Quatuor Hanson performs regularly at prestigious venues such as the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Wigmore Hall, and the Philharmonie de Paris, continuing to push musical boundaries with their distinctive artistry and vibrant energy.
