Chamber music masterclass 2.–6.1.2026
The Lauttasaari Music Festival organises a masterclass in instrumental chamber music on 2.–6.1.2026 in cooperation with the Sibelius Academy ja Savonlinna Music Academy. Teachers for the class are professor Levon Chilingirian (Guildhall School of Music, UK) and professor Seppo Kimanen (Jean Sibelius Quartet, FI). The masterclass ends with a final concert the Lauttasaari Church on 6.1. at 16.00.
Registration: Apply here by 24.11.2025. The choices will be announced on 1.12.2025.
Fees: Quartet 120 €, trio 140 €, duo 160 € per person.
Lessons: 4×60 min per ensemble. Lessons will be held in the Sibelius Academy’s N-building (Nervanderinkatu 13, 00100 Helsinki).

Levon Chilingirian
Levon Chilingirian, renowned violinist and founder of the celebrated Chilingirian Quartet, is Professor of Violin and Chamber Music at the Royal Academy of Music and the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London. Founded in 1971, the Chilingirian Quartet continues one of the most internationally celebrated string quartets.

Seppo Kimanen
Seppo Kimanen is a cellist and a versatile figure in the world of music, whose international career as a soloist and chamber musician is truly exceptional. He is best known as the cellist of the Jean Sibelius Quartet and as the founder and long-time artistic director of the Kuhmo Chamber Music Festival.
