Helvi Leiviskä was a pioneer of Finnish chamber music, and her works form an important part of Finland’s 20th-century chamber music heritage. The piano quartet, composed in 1925–1926 and revised in 1935, deserves to be heard.
Kaija Saariaho’s second string quartet, Terra Memoria, is, in the composer’s words, dedicated “to those who have passed.”
The world premiere of Aulis Sallinen’s seventh string quartet crowns Larufest – The Lauttasaari Music Festival 2026.
After the concert, a panel discussion on the works and composers will be held in the parish hall. Panelists: the general secretary of the Martha Association Marianne Heikkilä, non-fiction author Pekka Hako, and director-musician Tuomas Sallinen.
Tickets 30 €, pensioners 25 €, students and children (7–17 yo) 15 € + fee 1,5 €
